WEEK 65: ¡Milagros!

Image
Hello friends! It was a good week! It's an adjustment going from a trio to a duo, and it was noticeably quieter this week, but all is well. We had an amazing Sunday this week, so many people came to church! We were running all around the building, saying hi to friends and helping the members and getting people situated. We haven't been that busy on a Sunday in a long time, and it felt good. It was so wonderful to be surprised by some of our friends and members who came, and everyone was just so cheerful yesterday. It was so good! We had another miracle this week in finding someone to teach: Garrettson Swint! She's the most "active" nonmember you will ever meet! She comes every week, her family are all members, and she even holds a calling to help in the congregation! But she's never been baptized, and no one quite knows why! So our ward mission leader had a bold conversation with her and invited her to meet with us and work to know the truth for herself. She a...

WEEK 64: Livin' It Up On Top

(Sorry friends, this didn't leave my Outbox last week! You get a double email dose today, for better or for worse.) Happy Monday, friends! It's been such a good week! We found quite a few new people, had some lessons, and we have friends who we are excited about! Life is good. We have our transfer news: Sister Sena and I are staying for our third transfer together, and Sister Broberg is leaving us! We were not expecting it, but we're all excited! Today we spent some time with our district and had many, many laughs. The sentence, "To love another person is to see the face of God" from Les Miserables is one of my most-loved sentences, and I think about it often when I'm with friends and family. I'm grateful for the missionaries, members, and friends that I get to meet and serve around! This week was crazy, as we had three separate exchanges with our sisters! We had one with Sister Eastman and Sister Hansen, where I got to climb back onto my bike and I absolu...

WEEK 63: Meditation And Gratitude

Image
Hi friends!! This week was so fun!! We had Zone Conference and it was amazing! I always learn so much. We had the chance to do a few role plays and I learned a lot of different things from the missionaries we practiced with. President Vance led a discussion about gratitude and also how the Lord guides our lives. I had so many thoughts and felt the Spirit teaching me very important truths that are and/or will be pertinent to my life. It was amazing. As part of the doctrinal discussion on gratitude, President Vance challenged us to incorporate more gratitude into our weekly letters! Every night for almost a full year of my mission I have been keeping a gratitude journal by my bed, in which I write three things from that day that I'm grateful for. So, this week I went back through this week and pulled out some of the top experiences: - We had exchanges with Hermana Parke and Hermana Morgan, and I learned so much from Hermana Parke!! She was such a positive influence and we had great c...

WEEK 62: You Win Some, You Lose Some

Image
Hey friends!! It's been a fantastic week. There were a few stressful situations, but the Lord provided peace and resolution, and I'm grateful for that.   We went on an exchange with Sister Eastman and Sister Hansen, and it was so fun! It rained on us and we got drenched again, but thankfully we dried off quickly. I had a lot of great conversations with Sister Hansen, and we both learned a lot and talked to so many people! We enjoyed our time together, and we met most of our goals for the exchange, which was exciting and motivating! Also, when we went out to lunch I accidentally spent $14 on a german chocolate cake brownie (it wasn't clear that it was that expensive) until it was too late, but it was so delicious that I don't really have any lingering regrets. You win some, you lose some. Anyway. We had MLC this week and it was amazing! President and Sister Vance are working on some incredible things for this mission. Sometimes my head starts to spin when I think about a...
