WEEK 22: Unfinished Business

Image
Hello hello!! We are coming at you live from Henderson, NV! Again! Yep, that's right. I'm back in the Railroad Pass zone! Back where it all began... It was quite a shock getting my transfer news Sunday night, but the phrase "unfinished business" has been ringing through my head all week. I am absolutely convinced that there's a reason I've been brought back here. My goal is to find out what that reason is! I'm really trying to focus on being in tune with the Spirit and listen closely to feelings and thoughts I have. I hope to see a lot of growth this transfer. I hope to end this transfer with "further light and knowledge" regarding myself, my service as a missionary, and maybe, hopefully, just life in general. But before I get into every new thing from this week, I'm taking y'all on a little flashback trip to the olden days--way back to my time in Sunrise (so basically, we're only flashing back to Monday afternoon). After we dropped o...

WEEK 21.5: Happy Thankgiving!!

Image
Greetings, friends and family!! Happy Thanksgiving!! We were graciously given a couple hours of Preparation day time by President and Sister Rodarte for Thanksgiving today, and I wanted to take the time to send a quick email! TW: This is corny. I will not be offended if you click out and just wait to read my regular email on Monday. Hakuna matata. No worries. I don't mind. I just wanted to share some of the things that I am most grateful for, and leave a special little invitation for all of you who will read this. But first, I am grateful for my family. Literally my family is one of my most treasured blessings. Families are one of the ultimate gifts from our Heavenly Father. It is a joy to know that I am tied to them for all of eternity. Their endless love and support means the world to me!! What a miracle that we have families! 10/10. Love y'all. I am grateful for the glorious city of Las Vegas!! This city is absolutely wild. It's so crazy and so fun, and the most wonderfu...

WEEK 21: Transfer Week!!

Image
I MUST MAKE AN APOLOGY. My weekly sent super late last week!! I am so sorry! I sent it before Pday ended, but the service in our apartment was being weird and it wouldn't send. It stayed in the Queued section until Tuesday, and then sent off... I am so sorry. I promise that I'm not an apostate missionary. Anyway. Moving on. On Friday our entire Zone had the opportunity to participate in a service project with The Salvation Army! We assembled Thanksgiving meal boxes. We assembled, taped, and loaded 200 boxes in under an hour, and it was so fun! I love big service activities like that, and it was so fun to be with such a large group of missionaries. We got transfer news this week! I found out that I am getting transfered back into the Railroad Pass Zone! It's a huge surprise, I thought that I would be staying here. But I'm excited to go back to Henderson! Sister Welch will be my new companion, she is one of the missionaries that came out with me. I'm heartbroken to be...

WEEK 20: The Week Where I Turned 20!

Image
Hello hello! First off, I want to apologize for my email last week! Preparation days are always chaotic and they just fly by. We were with our district right up until 6pm, and so I just threw together that email. We were having a joint birthday celebration, as Elder Holden and I both had birthdays this week! So that's why last week's email was not my best... Speaking of, thank you to everyone who sent me messages this week! I appreciated recieving every single one, and the time you took to send it. It was a good day, full of preaching repentance and baptizing converts...as it should be! This weekend was incredible. We had our Sunrise Stake Conference this weekend, and Elder Patrick Kearon and Elder Shumway from the Seventy visited. They spoke to our stake, and it was incredible! Elder Kearon gave a talk titled "He is Risen with Healing in His Wings" in the April 2022 General Conference, and it was one of my favorites. When I found out that he was attending, I was so e...

WEEK 19: Zone Conference!

Image
Hello!! Quick email this week! We had Zone Conference this week! It was incredible. President Rodarte has authorized 15 minutes of language study to every missionary in the mission, allowing us to learn how to street contact and find in Spanish! We are SO excited. It's going to hasten the work so much! The Zone Conference centered around that. We had time to break off into our districts and then later on an zones to roleplay, learn how to plan better every day, and to discuss people we feel could be baptized this month. Overall it was a beautiful meeting. It's been a great week. I got a little existential and had a little missionary crisis this week, but I'm much better now! Something that helped me this week was studying obedience and patience. The reason we are asked to be obedient is to practice using our agency the right way--it doesn't restrict our agency! We are asked to develop these Christlike attributes to prepare us for what's to come in the next life. Bet...
