WEEK 48: God Has Not Ceased To Be a God of Miracles!

Image
Hey! I forgot to write my email this week, so it's short today. This has been an amazing week! We've worked hard and have seen miracles. Our prayers were answered time and time again this week as we've been seeking to find people to teach. The experiences that we've seen this week have strengthened my testimony that God is aware of each of His children, and that He is preparing people to recieve His gospel. I've just been blown away by the almost immediate responses that we've seen by praying, and also am filled with gratitude for the delayed answers to prayers that we recieve, too. The Lord truly does work in mysterious ways! He reveals His will "line upon line, precept upon precept" to those who listen to the promptings of the Spirit. It's amazing to see God's hand guiding our work and placing us where we need to be at exactly the right time. Mormon 9:19 "And if there were miracles wrought then, why has God ceased to be a God of miracles...

WEEK 47: West Side Story

Hey!! We have had such a tender week this week! First off, we got to take our sweet recent convert, Ginger, to the temple on Saturday! She had us do the proxy baptisms for some of her family members who have passed on. Due to health problems she couldn't get into the baptism font, so she had Sister Seibold and I do the female names, and a temple worker did the male names! Included in the group were her sister, aunt, uncle, and brother. When we were confirmed for the names, the Spirit filled the room so strongly and Brother Haub who was pronouncing the confirmation became very emotional. There was a special feeling in the room as he read the names, and we all knew that the spirits on the other side were joyfully accepting their saving ordinances. Our friend Kathy is an absolute gem, and she is on date for baptism for May 30th! She is so sweet. She is experiencing a lot of family opposition in her decision to be baptized, but after fasting and praying about it, her commitment has onl...

WEEK 46: "Oh, Yeah. It's All Coming Together."

Good morning!!! Life is busy. I left Old Henderson for New Henderson last week, and was dropped right into the middle of a large, bustling city center area. We've got lots of shopping centers and so, so many apartment/condo complexes. I'm enjoying my time here already! I joined Sister Seibold here, and we are the Sister Training Leaders (STLs) over two zones in Henderson, so we get to work with all the sisters here very closely. There's so much to learn and so many more meetings and councils and phone calls than I've ever experienced before, but it is so fun. I immediately felt a difference in the Spirit after I recieved this assignment and came to this area. I testify that God truly does qualify those He calls! On my own I'm nowhere near capable or able to minister to each of these sisters or lead and direct, but with this calling and the additional power and authority that comes with it from God, I've already seen a difference in myself and my ministry. Sister...

WEEK 45: "The Winds Of Change..."

HEY Y'ALL I have absolutely zero time today, as I am being transfered tomorrow! It almost doesn't feel real! I've been through a whole journey in this area, and I'm grateful. The four transfers that I've spent here have changed me and given me a new perspective about many things. There have been many highs, many lows, but I know why God brought me here, and why He kept me here. It hurts my heart to leave this area that I've come to know so well and to say goodbye to the members and friends that I've grown close to. This has been a sacred time in my mission, where I have met many people and learned many lessons. I am so grateful for this place and the people here who have given me glimpses of what heaven feels like. It's hard to leave but at the same time, I know it is God's will for me. And I am looking forward to a new area, a new companion, and new experiences. I know that I have a lot to learn in the weeks ahead of me, but I'm looking forward ...

WEEK 44: Three Baptisms, Two Sisters Running, And A Patridge In A Pear Tree

Uhh, hey! I am going to begin this email by saying two things: 1) I am blown away by the love and friendship you all show to me! Thank you for all the advice, prayers, emails, and love you send my way. It means the world and makes such a big difference. 2) Y'all are not going to BELIEVE what happened this week!!! We have been absolutely showered with miracles this week, and it has been incredible. Buckle up! Let's rewind a bit, I'm taking you back to last Monday. Sister Eastman and I were in our car driving back to our area to get back to work after a wonderful Preparation day, full of talking to family, frantically writing emails, napping, and swimming in laundry. While driving, we get a text from our dear Sister Brewster. Her two granddaughters, Riley and Taisley, have been living with the Brewsters for years and have faithfully attended every church meeting and youth activity since they were kids, despite not being baptized members. The reason behind that is that they co...
