WEEK 52: It Was The Best Of Times, It Was The Worst Of Times

Image
HEY Y'ALL We made it another week! With the new transfer, Sister Sena has come into this area to be my companion! Transfers were funky this time, due to the Rodartes leaving soon, so we had a couple days in between our transfer and when the new missionaries arrived from the MTC. Sister Eastman was called to be a trainer for a new missionary, so she stayed with us for a few days and turned us into a trio. It was so fun to have her around, and to work with her again! It is indeed a tumultuous time right now--truly the best of times and also the worst of times. I will hit my one year mark of being a missionary on the 27th! Tuesday is also the day that the Rodartes complete their missionary service and return home, and our new Mission President and his family will arrive! (My emotions on that subject are far to great to address at this time). The new edition of Preach My Gospel was also released this week, and there were some major changes and improvements made to how we teach and plan...

WEEK 51: Sparky And Sharky

HEY Y'ALL We had a good week this week! This area is full of miracles and it is so fun to work here. It's the last week of the transfer, so we had final district councils this week. This transfer has gone by in the blink of an eye, and it is crazy! I've learned so much, and will be staying here as an STL for another transfer. We had some struggles finding members to fellowship at our lessons this week, but we were still able to meet our goals and we found quite a few new people! We also had a friend show up and surprise us at church, by telling us that he wants to be baptized and take the missionary lessons again! His name is Destry, and he is really cool. Our friend Mike also came to church for the second week in a row! It's always a lot of effort throughout the week to help get our friends to church, but it's also very rewarding when you see them walk in and the ward members just take them in and love them. We might have a few miracles coming our way, but that is ...

WEEK 50: The Lord Provides!

HEY Y'ALL We had another exciting week! On Tuesday we found 6 new people to teach! It was absolutely miraculous. Almost every single day this month we've given out a Book of Mormon copy, and to most of the people we've given it to, they have begun reading it! We have a lot of elect people who are recieving the gospel, and it's incredible. We have many amazing people, but unfortunately a lot of them live outside of our area or need to be passed off to the YSA ward. But, we've got to not be selfish and let these golden people go bless other missionaries... However, we do have some incredible people who do actually live in our area! And I'm just grateful that so many people are receptive right now. The Lord really does soften hearts! Please pray for our friends Mike, Frank, Jessie, William, Montego, Christian, and Anthony! They blow me away at their humility and willingness to learn, and they're all reading the Book of Mormon! Now we just need to help them get ...

WEEK 49: Kathy Got Baptized!

Image
Hey! It's been another great week here in the Nevada Las Vegas Mission! We've stayed busy with exchanges, Zone Conference, and Kathy's baptism! We had our exchange with the Hermanas, and it was so fun! They're all such strong missionaries and brought a lot of positivity and energy. We worked hard all day, and saw so many miracles! We each met incredible people who were very receptive to us, and definitely have some new potential people who will progress toward baptism! Kathy was baptized Wednesday night, and it was one of the most beautiful baptisms I've ever been to! She was so nervous of going under the water, but when she came up out of the water she was grinning so widely, and gave Brother Naeata the biggest bear hug ever. Her daughters came, which was amazing as they had resisted her decision and hadn't supported her at all. But they came, and as they all sat on the front row together, they were all in tears after Kathy was confirmed. It was beautiful, and ...
