WEEK 49: Kathy Got Baptized!

Hey!

It's been another great week here in the Nevada Las Vegas Mission! We've stayed busy with exchanges, Zone Conference, and Kathy's baptism!

We had our exchange with the Hermanas, and it was so fun! They're all such strong missionaries and brought a lot of positivity and energy. We worked hard all day, and saw so many miracles! We each met incredible people who were very receptive to us, and definitely have some new potential people who will progress toward baptism!

Kathy was baptized Wednesday night, and it was one of the most beautiful baptisms I've ever been to! She was so nervous of going under the water, but when she came up out of the water she was grinning so widely, and gave Brother Naeata the biggest bear hug ever. Her daughters came, which was amazing as they had resisted her decision and hadn't supported her at all. But they came, and as they all sat on the front row together, they were all in tears after Kathy was confirmed. It was beautiful, and Kathy was glowing! Later, her daughter who had been the most opposed told Kathy that she was really moved and felt the Spirit. MIRACLE! Kathy shared a beautiful testimony at the end, thanking everyone for coming and expressing that before the missionaries came to her door, she was "faithfully lonely". But after she started coming to church and learning from the Book of Mormon, she said, "I found my place, and now I'm home."

Zone Conference was amazing on Thursday! It was the Rodarte's last one before they finish their mission at the end of this month, so it was an emotional day. But it was amazing, and the trainings we recieved have given a lot of missionaries so direction and build momentum. There are 11 missionaries going home this transfer, and 10 of them were at our Conference, and the testimonies they bore powerful testimonies of Jesus Christ. It was a spiritually-packed day.

So much more has happened this week, and it's been awesome. We've continued to see answers to prayers and miracles from God, and every day increases my faith so much. Our area is being blessed! Praying with faith like it's all up to God and then getting up and working like it's all up to us bring so many miracles, and when God sees our effort He provides a way for it to happen.
