WEEK 43: Who's Dummy?

Image
Hello to my beautiful family and friends! I've been thinking about y'all a lot this week. Every week when I go through and add your emails into my weekly I just smile and think how much your love and friendship means to me! I just wanted to say that I love you, I miss you, and I am forever grateful for your support! We had exchanges with Sister Scott and Sister Coon this week, and it was great! I've never served around Sister Coon before, and I learned a lot about diligence and consecration from her. We switched after lunch, and I spent the rest of the day with Sister Scott. My embarrassing story from this week comes from my time with Sister Scott. I saw a person out of the corner of my eye as we passed by a driveway on our way to knock a door. In a bold attempt to talk to everyone, I turned around and strutted confidently up to the gate. Without hesitation I gave the biggest, friendliest wave I could muster, and cheerfully said, "Hey!" to the figure, hoping my vo...

WEEK 42: When There's A Will, There's A Way[ne]

Hello friends and family!! I have been looking forward to this email all week. It's been a great week! My emotional state has greatly improved since last week, and this week flew by. I actually began meeting with the mission counselor this week, and I am so grateful for her! I've been trying to slow down and take the time to rest and not push myself beyond my limits. This has included plucking out hymns on the church piano, working on a cross stitch embroidery piece I bought, getting back into my watercolors, and reading a book about missionary work that my dad sent me for Christmas while on our breaks. It's been great, and has helped me to decompress and relieve some of the stress from life as a missionary. We stay busy every single day. There's always more to do in this area, and we are working hard to change our approach with the members, which makes it feel like we are starting all over. It's really exciting, and it's definitely keeping our brains sharp as w...

WEEK 41: Fear Not

Howdy howdy! Welcome to this week's email rundown! We did a lot of service this week! A family in our ward is moving out, and they need help packing up. We went over there this week and deconstructed shelves and cabinets. We also spent time helping a woman with some yard work, and we're going back with our district this week! On Saturday we helped a sister in our ward get her garden set up and prepped for the summer. Thursday we spent time serving at St. Timothy's, which is just one of my favorite locations from my mission! We also had interviews with President Rodarte this week! While waiting for him, I had a nice one-on-one conversation with Sister Rodarte. I adore both of them so much! I love to be around them and just absorb all of their knowledge and goodness and friendship. They are truly incredible people. People say that you're assigned to labor in a specific mission for a reason, and I know that part of that is because of the mission president and his wife. The...

WEEK 40: Happy Easter!

Image
Hey! Happy April! This month is off to a beautiful start. The weather is absolutely perfect here, but it will definitely start to warm up quickly. I never knew Las Vegas weather bounced back and forth between cold and warm in the spring, but I know one of these days we're going to wake up and it's going to be permanently triple digits... It's been a good week. There aren't many updates regarding our friends, other than that we've run into a small hiccup with William with the law of chastity, so his baptism has been postponed until further notice. Please keep him in your prayers! We know he can get baptized, and he still desires it, too. He just needs some guidance with some big decisions right now. We've been blessed with some pretty spectacular sunsets this week. I think sunsets are my love language? Nevada gets some pretty stunning skies. I'm always grateful for the reminder that there's something going on that's bigger than us, and that there is b...
