WEEK 40: Happy Easter!

Hey! Happy April!

This month is off to a beautiful start. The weather is absolutely perfect here, but it will definitely start to warm up quickly. I never knew Las Vegas weather bounced back and forth between cold and warm in the spring, but I know one of these days we're going to wake up and it's going to be permanently triple digits...

It's been a good week. There aren't many updates regarding our friends, other than that we've run into a small hiccup with William with the law of chastity, so his baptism has been postponed until further notice. Please keep him in your prayers! We know he can get baptized, and he still desires it, too. He just needs some guidance with some big decisions right now.

We've been blessed with some pretty spectacular sunsets this week. I think sunsets are my love language? Nevada gets some pretty stunning skies. I'm always grateful for the reminder that there's something going on that's bigger than us, and that there is beauty and goodness in the world. If you haven't sat down and enjoyed a good old fashioned sunset recently, I invite you to do that sometime this week! I can promise that you'll have a few seconds of peace and relief as you sit and enjoy God's creations.

General Conference was this weekend! If you missed it, never fear! It's recorded and you can find it on YouTube, the Church's website, or the Gospel Library app. It was a beautiful conference. We watched four sessions with different member families, and I am just obsessed with the members in these wards! They are such great examples to me, and I am always blown away by their service, compassion, and faith. They are incredible missionaries, and we can always rely on them. Getting to know these families and other members of the Desert Rose and Black Mountain wards has inspired me and given me hope for my future! I love them all.

General Conference had a general theme of finding relief in Jesus Christ, of seeking peace through repentance and faith in Him, and of working to carry a spirit of grace and peace-making. I absolutely loved it! So many of the messages hit home to me, and I felt a lot of comfort while watching it. I also had a continual impression of the truth of modern-day prophets and the restoration of Jesus Christ's full gospel and church. I am so grateful for that knowledge! Ancient prophets were called to prepare the world for Christ's coming, and we know that He is coming again, so it follows that there would continue to be prophets today to prepare the world for that event! I really do have a testimony of modern prophets and continuing revelationfrom God to His children. We are not here to be alone, confused, or lost. There is a way back to our Father's presence! We don't have to live in despair or darkness. Jesus Christ offers pure light, truth, and knowledge. I want to add my testimony to the many others that have witnessed of prophets and apostles. It truly is a privilege to serve as a missionary, and to be able to share a special testimony of the truths of the gospel.

I hope this Holy Week is special and sacred for you and your loved ones, as we remember what Jesus Christ did so that we can be forgiven and strengthened. I truly "stand all amazed" when I think about Easter and eveyrthing that Christ suffered for all of us. I love Him! I am grateful to have the chance to become a disciple of Him. I am coming to know my Savior more than I ever have before, and it is something that I can not forget or deny. I hope all of you have a beautiful Easter weekend!
