WEEK 64: Livin' It Up On Top
(Sorry friends, this didn't leave my Outbox last week! You get a double email dose today, for better or for worse.)
Happy Monday, friends!
It's been such a good week! We found quite a few new people, had some lessons, and we have friends who we are excited about! Life is good.
We have our transfer news: Sister Sena and I are staying for our third transfer together, and Sister Broberg is leaving us! We were not expecting it, but we're all excited! Today we spent some time with our district and had many, many laughs. The sentence, "To love another person is to see the face of God" from Les Miserables is one of my most-loved sentences, and I think about it often when I'm with friends and family. I'm grateful for the missionaries, members, and friends that I get to meet and serve around!
This week was crazy, as we had three separate exchanges with our sisters! We had one with Sister Eastman and Sister Hansen, where I got to climb back onto my bike and I absolutely loved it! My bike has a special place in my heart and I loved the chance to ride it again on the exchange. Then we had an exchange with Sister Long and Sister Rasmussen, and wow, it was one of the greatest exchanges I have ever gone on! First of all, I got to go back into Black Mountain/Desert Rose, which was my last area! I got to see some people that I had worked with, as well as see others who have since started to progress since I left. It was amazing and I truly felt the Spirit confirm that no effort is wasted, and that people progress in the gospel according to the Lord's time. It was a beautiful day, and it was such a special experience to go back and see all the amazing growth.
On Wednesday we had a Book of Mormon reading day and it was so good! It was a day of reading all the way through, starting at 6:30am and going until curfew at 10:30pm. I severely underestimated how hard it would be to sit still for so long, but we took breaks and small walks throughout the day. I loved having that time to read and strengthen my own testimony. It was a much-needed break and gave me tome to refresh and just be in the scriptures. It always amazes me that the Lord can speak through ancient records and it can be completely applicable to my life and my own questions and experiences. I'm so grateful for the scriptures, and for the day of reading that our mission had!
Anyway. We are happy and healthy here, which is a blessing. I am happy. I'm grateful for the love and prayers and support, and I hope and pray that you have a beautiful week!
P.S. Keep up the gratitude journaling, okay?? We recieve so many blessings when we recognize the Lord's hand!
Love,
Sister Malmstrom
