WEEK 63: Meditation And Gratitude
Hi friends!!
This week was so fun!! We had Zone Conference and it was amazing! I always learn so much. We had the chance to do a few role plays and I learned a lot of different things from the missionaries we practiced with. President Vance led a discussion about gratitude and also how the Lord guides our lives. I had so many thoughts and felt the Spirit teaching me very important truths that are and/or will be pertinent to my life. It was amazing.
As part of the doctrinal discussion on gratitude, President Vance challenged us to incorporate more gratitude into our weekly letters! Every night for almost a full year of my mission I have been keeping a gratitude journal by my bed, in which I write three things from that day that I'm grateful for. So, this week I went back through this week and pulled out some of the top experiences:
- We had exchanges with Hermana Parke and Hermana Morgan, and I learned so much from Hermana Parke!! She was such a positive influence and we had great conversations. Her testimony and mission experience was such a boost to me.
- We took a couple youth out to lessons and to knock doors, and it was so fun!
- Dinner with the Woodward family!!
- We had a couple experiences this week where we had to help a couple individuals during stressful and straining circumstances, but I specifically felt that there were angels among us during those experiences.
- Our friend Pat is a miracle!! Pat has been meeting with missionaries and attending church for decades but she's never been baptized. When we stopped by to visit her this week, she entered the room and was absolutely beaming. She told us that the concerns she's always had were finally resolved, and she recieved a spiritual confirmation that it's finally time to be baptized! She was glowing, and you could feel the peace and resolution she was experiencing. We're excited to help her prepare for her baptism! The Lord's timing is truly unique for each individual, and people do change!
Dear friends, there are miracles everywhere!! Taking the time to think about gratitude and the ways that God shows His hand brought a special feeling into my week and I was able to ponder about my testimony and experiences, and it was amazing! So my invitation to you this week is to keep a gratitude journal! Nothing crazy, just write down at least three things from your day that you're grateful for. It can be as simple as a lady wearing a pretty blue eyeliner at Walmart (trust me, that was actually one of mine), or something more complex. But no matter how big or small, they are miracles nonetheless and they are all signs from heaven to light our day with love from our Father in Heaven!
I hope it's a good week for you! Love you, bye!
