WEEK 58: Rockin' And Rollin'

Hey friends!!

Our preparation day was changed to Thursday this week, because the upcoming transfer schedule is different. It was a long stretch with no preparation day since last Monday, but we're here now! It feels illegal to send an email on Thursday, but that's just how it is this week. Crazy.

Speaking of transfers, Sister Sena and I are staying together and we will be training a new missionary!!!! We're so excited! We have a lot to juggle, but it's all good.

The past week and a half has been so fun. This week I got to check off one of my official mission bucket list items: teach an English class! With Sister Sena speaking Portuguese, we're getting English classes up and running. We started teaching a woman who knows practically nothing, and it was such a sweet experience! Audelene is the cutest lady, and she was so humble and willing to learn, and I was so touched by it. It was so fun to just be there while Sister Sena taught the basics, and I felt the Spirit in something just as simple as a free English class! We're here to be of service to our fellow men, and I kept reflecting on how the Savior met people where they were, and nurtured and taught them to their understanding, helping them to grow in knowledge and faith. It was an amazing experience and I'm so excited do it every week!

Our friends haven't been progressing very rapidly, but I also haven't been very organized recently, so that's probably a reflection of my lack of coordinating and consistent effort. However, we're teaching a family and they really love the church! They're busy, but want to start coming to Sacrament meeting weekly. It's so fun to work with them and to see their love for the church. We're hoping to have more frequent lessons to help them build their testimonies of the gospel! Please pray for Chris, Jana, and Robert, if you can!

These next few weeks are going to be hectic, but it's so exciting! There's a lot to do, and I'm constantly falling short in my efforts to fulfill my calling and my responsibilities. I'm again grateful for the grace of Jesus Christ, which He gives freely. It's summed up perfectly by this quote from the new Preach My Gospel manual:
"Although we are imperfect and may fall short again, there is more grace, love, and mercy in Jesus Christ than there is failure, flaw, or sin in us."

Boom. Read that. Now read it again. One more time, just for fun. And then one last time. Jesus Christ's goodness and love is endless, and when we truly give what we can and repent sincerely, developing that relationship with Him, His grace covers us and we're given Divine help. I'm amazed every time. Ponder that this week! Because it's truth!

Love you, bye!
