WEEK 53: Out Of The Frying Pan, Into The Fire

Happy Monday, folks!

So many things happened this week, but I've narrowed it down so that I can talk about the three biggest events.

First and foremost: Our friend Ben is going to be baptized!!! On Saturday!! He literally put himself on date on his own, and then his member friend called us to let us know. He is quite literally the most amazing person that I've ever met. He is so cool. Sister Sena and I just love him so much. He's so excited to take this step and enter onto the covenant path. He's truly been prepared by the Lord, and it's finally his time! July 8th is his big day, and I am absolutely thrilled.

Second: I celebrated my one year as a missionary this week! It's caused a lot of reflection, and yes, some existentialism, as I look back on the past year of my life. I've learned so much and have spent a lot of time this week rejoicing in the power of Jesus Christ and how He has changed me. Living His gospel, by acting in faith, repenting, and making covenants with God truly brings a deep change into your life. I can testify of that because I've experienced it personally.

Third: We met the Vances this week! The Rodartes left and President and Sister Vance arrived. They are full of energy and lots of smiles, and they work hard. We had our Mission Leadership Council this week, and it was a great meeting. I still don't know them very personally yet, but I do know that they are called by God to lead this mission at this time, and I'm excited to learn more from them!

Fourth (this is a bonus item): We've crossed the threshold from a mild spring and early summer into the scorching Vegas heat. It is no longer mild. We breached the triple digits and are fully past the point of no return. Prayers (and water) are appreciated at this time.

Anyway. That's a basic summary of my week. The Lord is good and this is a true work! Take some time to search the scriptures this week. My invitation this week is the same as Nephi's: "Feast upon the words of Christ;", and my promise is the same, too: "For behold, the words of Christ will tell you all things what ye should do." (2 Nephi 32:3) I know what it's like to be in need of answers, direction, and peace. I promise that the Lord has already provided the answers you need, and they are tucked away in His word. Go search it out! I promise you'll find what you need.

Love you, bye!
