WEEK 8: This Better Be Important

Hello hello!!

Im pretty sure I say this every week, but I can't believe it's Pday again! Time goes SO. FAST. in the mission field. I cannot even express the time warp that missionaries live in. I passed my 1 month mark in the field this week, and next week will be my 2 months since being set apart! Transfers are coming up next week, so we will see if I stay here in McCullough Hills stake or get moved to a different area! It's exciting but nerve-wracking to think about the potential of starting over in a new area with a new companion. So we'll see what news will come next week about if I stay or go!

We've continued to reevaluate our teaching pool this week, even though stopping teaching our good friends has been difficult. We've been seeing a lot of miracles because of it, in finding new people and them having a strong desire to learn. It's been really exciting to meet and plan for people who are excited to grow their relationship with Jesus Christ!

A random story from this week is that I dropped my phone at the exact moment that I was closing the car door, and totally crunched it. I don't understand how I managed to time it so perfectly, but yeah. My screen is now cracked. The phone is fine but rip to my screen protector! Mom, if you're reading this, please find the extra screen protectors in my room and send them to me, thank you.

I want to encourage every single person who reads this to do something. Don't worry, it's not difficult:) The Church has been working on and releasing live action videos that depict the major stories within the Book of Mormon. The project started in 2019, and they've been going in chronogical order of the stories within the Book. But recently, the Church has really pushed to release the crowning event of the Book or Mormon: 3 Nephi. When the resurrected Jesus Christ visits the people in the ancient Americas. They released the trailer for that section this summer, and we as missionaries have been encouraged to share it with the friends we're teaching, because it's truly so special. It's on YouTube (and the Book of Mormon app, which I also highly recommend you download and look at), and it's 3 Nephi Trailer. We watch it at leaat 4-5 times every week with our friends and I get emotional every single time. Even the music is so beautiful, and it's just so wonderful!! I will be honest, I've never really loved this video series--until I watched the 3 Nephi trailer. I had to watch it a few times before I came around to it, but once I did I absolutely adore it. It's just so powerful, and it's a beautiful depiction of the way the Jesus Christ allows us to come to Him individually. He let's us take our time, doesn't push us, but is always there waiting. And when we come to Him, we can find healing, comfort, friendship, literally anything. And it just makes me cry every time. SO GO WATCH IT AND TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK!!!

Every week my emails feel more scattered, and I do apologize. Every week is such a blur that I truly can't remember what happened! I do have a prayer list if any of yall have the time or desire to add a few names of people we love into your prayers!

Ariana and Randy - our friends who want to be baptized but aren't able to be right now!

Lavonne - our lovely friend on date for baptism, but she is having a lot of health problems and needs prayers.

Albert - a super cool new friend who's been reading the Book of Mormon and wants to meet with us again!

Eva - she's really curious about the Church and is meeting with us to learn more about what her daughter believes. 

Breton - a new friend who just has a lot of questions! 

We didn't take a ton of pictures this week...

- Knocking doors and we see "This Better Be Important" on the doormat. Um, we're sharing about the Restoration of the full gospel of Jesus Christ, I think it's pretty important

- We went to the aquarium for Pday today! It was very very exciting:)
